Sailor Jupiter - Manga

 

It's time for Sailor Jupiter! Let's look at her original fuku in the manga.

 

If you look closely, you can see that originally in the manga, Jupiter's hairtie had two green balls, with white petals around them. These were simplified in other media and later in the manga to remove the petals. She sports pink rose earring, a gold tiara with a green middle stone, and in her original fuku, there is a thin lightning rod attached to her tiara.

 

 

Her primary color is a deep green, and her secondary color is a pale-medium pink. Her choker is green, as well as her sailor collar, which features three white stripes in the manga, similar to the other inner scouts (except Venus). Her front bow is pink with a green center brooch.

 

She wears the same white leotard with underbust seam as the other senshi, with three white rolls at the shoulder and one at the hips. Her gloves are elbow length with three green rolls a the top.

 

 

Her skirt is dark green, and the back bow is the same pink as the front bow. She wears a pink flower belt with a ball on one side (full of rose petal potpourri). She uses this is one of her original attacks. Jupiter finishes her look with green ankle boots with white laces. Stay tuned next time for Sailor Venus!

 

Sailor Mars - Manga

Let's talk Sailor Mars! We will be looking at her first fuku in the manga.

 

Mars is similar to the other inner senshi in her first fuku. Her primary color is bright red, and her secondary color is a very deep purple. She wear a thin gold tiara with a red center stone, red earrings with dangly multi-pointed red stars, and a red choker. Her sailor collar is red with three white stripes, and her front bow is deep purple with a red center brooch.

She wears the typical white leotard with an underbust seam and three white rolls at the shoulder. Her white elbow length gloves have three red rolls at the top.

Notice the difference here. In the manga, mars starts off with a red brooch at the front v of her skirt, which disappears later on. She always sports a red skirt. Unlike some of the other senshi which have their secondary color on the back bow, Mars sports a red bow, making her front bow the only secondary color on her first fuku.

Mars wears red high heels with a pointed tow to finish off her look. Stay tuned for Sailor Jupiter, coming soon!

 

Featured Cosplay - Comicbook Couture

Check out this lovely Sailor Venus by Comicbook Couture! She's our very first featured cosplay, so lets take a look at her fuku!

 

This cosplay is of the regular version of Sailor Venus, and looks to draw its primary influence from the anime. She's choosen to go with a deeper orange shade rather than one closer to yellow. We also see the choice here to go with a domed center for her front bow (rather than flat or jeweled). She sports a single stripe on her collar, and a yellow jewel on her tiara.

 

 

Although you can't see it, this Sailor Venus does sport a yellow back bow. She also has decided to go with a padded upper on her leotard, rather than just a seam, which is a popular interpretation. Overall, a splendid representation of anime Venus, including an adorable artemis plushie. Please go and check out her other cosplays!

Sailor Mercury - Manga

 

Today lets take a look at Sailor Mercury as she appears in the manga. This is her original fuku, before she becomes a super, and stays relatively consistent throughout.

 

Mercury sports a gold tiara with a deep blue oval gem in the center. Her earrings are three blue pearls, in descending size, and her choker is a deep blue that matches her primary fuku color.

 

 

 

Mercury sports a dark blue collar with three white stripes, and an ice blue bow with a dark blue round gem in the center. One noticeable difference in Mercuy's fuku is her lack of arms rolls. This is unique for her among the inner senshi.

 

Mercury wears a white leotard with an underbust seam (some interpret this as 'armor'). Her gloves are elbow length with three dark blue rolls. Her skirt is also dark blue, and the back bow is the same ice blue as the front, with short fat tails.

Finally, her boots are knee high, the same dark blue as her fuku, and pointed upward with white trim. The heels are blocky and short.

 

 

 

 

Before we go! Mercury has a few gadgets that show up here a there. Noticeably, she has transparent blue goggle that double as a computer screen, and a microphone that extends from her earring. These show up throughout the manga, but only on rare occasions.
